Tamil actors who disappeared with just a few films

While many actors in Tamil cinema are yearning for film opportunities, a few succeed in good films and then disappear without further success.

In this post, we will look at important actors who acted in only a few films in Tamil cinema and then disappeared from Tamil cinema.

1. Siddharth Venugopal

Siddharth Venugopal made his debut as a hero in the 2006 film June R. After that, he made his debut as the protagonist in the 2009 film Ananda Thandavam, directed by Gandhi Krishna.

Although the film Ananda Thandavam was not a huge success, he became famous with the song "Kana Kanaa Kankiren" from the film. After that, in 2012, he played one of the main villain roles in the film Naan, starring Vijay Antony in the lead role.I am the director of the movie who changed his character to make people talk.Siddharth Venugopal also quit cinema.

The fan base that formed for him has forgotten him with the movie. He is currently working as a director at Intuit.

2. Harish Raghavendra

Harish Raghavendra, once a great singer in Tamil cinema, made his debut as a hero in the 2003 film Vikatan, directed by actor Arun Pandian.

After that, he acted in a film called Faabab in 2005.But both of them didn't work properly for him and the film didn't work for him.Harish Raghavendra, who was struggling to become famous in Tamil cinema despite his continuous hard work, then stopped acting as a hero and started acting as a supporting actor.

Similarly, in 2006, he played an important role as Ajith Kumar's younger brother in the film Tirupati starring actor Ajith Kumar, directed by Director Perarasu.Harish Raghavendra, who was hoping to get many film opportunities after this, was deeply disappointed when he did not get any film opportunities after that. And he left Tamil cinema and went out. After that, Harish doesn't even get the chance to become a singer anymore.

3. Hamsavardhan

This Hamsavardhan is the son of the legendary actor Ravichandran.Hamsavardhan made his debut as the hero in the film, which he directed himself to turn his son into a hero in Tamil cinema.

That film was "Manaseeka Kadhal" in which he played the lead role. After that He acted in films including Vadugapatti Mappillai and Mandiran. But those films didn't go well for him.So, he joined Kerala actor Mammootty and acted in the movie Junior Senior.Hamsavardhan was disappointed when that film didn't do well either.  After that, Hamsavardhan acted with Vadivelu, thinking that if he gave a good mixed film in the Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu comedy, he could achieve success and continue his journey in cinema. That's the movie, "Piragu" and he's the protagonist in that movie.

But he couldn't become famous even through that film.Because it was through that film that Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu became famous. The reason is that Vadivelu's non-stop comedy scenes in the role of Sudukadu Vettiyan in that film were very well received by the public. But all the fame went to Vadivelu. He left, knowing that he would not be able to become famous through this film and that he would not be able to shine in cinema like his father. And with that, he left Tamil cinema.

Mahesh, who hails from Dindigul district, made his debut as a hero in the 2010 film "Angaditheru".

He also played the hero in the 2007 film "Thollapesi". He disappeared after 2008. It would definitely be a hit if he were to enter as a villain now.

6. Sathya

Actor Arya's younger brother Sathya starred in the 2008 debut film "Kaadhal Do Kalyanam" directed by Milind Rao (Aval, Netrikan and The Village (series)). The songs, composed by Yuvan, were a huge hit.

The film, produced by Mirchi Movies, was delayed so much that it was ready for release in 2010. But at that time, Mirchi Films stopped producing it and the film was stalled before it was released.

Then in 2013, serial actor Vijay made his debut as a hero with the film "Buttagam" directed by Adhi Raj. "Amara Kaaviyam", released in 2014, became a favorite film of many people.

The film "Chandana Devan", which was to be directed by Ameer and starring Arya and Sathya, was also not released during the Jallikattu protests in 2017.

Despite his continuous efforts, he became discouraged when those films failed. That too was abandoned and he too left cinema.

7. Kannan

Born in Sindhi, now Pakistan, Kannan worked as an assistant in Bengali films. That was the opportunity to meet Bharathiraja through "Kathal Oviyam". He played a small role in a film in 1985 that was a flop at the time of its release.

After that, 40 years later, in 2025, he made an entry as a villain in the 25th film "Shakti Thirumagan" starring Vijay Antony.. Let's see him now..
